Jeffery Lamont McCaw Jr.

Jeffery Lamont McCaw, Jr. was born on December 16th, 1989 in St. Louis, Missouri to Teresa and Jeffery. Jeffery was the first of six children born from this union. Jeffery was a very happy baby and began walking at 9 months to keep up with his two uncles Kenny and Kelvin. Jeffery was affectionately given the nickname Baby Jed (Baby J) by his grandma Linda. Jeffery began his education in the Jennings School District, where he attended Northview Elementary from K-4th grade. He later furthered his education at Ascension St. Paul in Normandy, Missouri from the 5th-8th grade, where he formed lasting friendships and was crowned the King of his 8th grade Dance. Jeffery began high school at Jennings Senior High and played on the basketball team while there for the 9th & 10th grade. He later transferred to Eskridge High School in the Wellston School District where he completed his high school career. While there he participated on the basketball and track teams. Jeffery was a bright and shining light to his family and he loved to make people laugh. He was baptized at the age of 12 and his faith was strong and a huge part of his personality. Jeffery’s passions were basketball and music. Jeffery picked up a basketball early and never needed any other toys. He began playing organized basketball at an early age and was known for being a great defensive presence on the court. Jeffery was a writer and leaves behind passionate poems, raps, and songs. He desired to attend school for music production. He was accepted into Forest Park Community College. Jeffery always believed in family and his journey involved constantly trying to find his place in this world. He leaves his family with many fond and impactful memories. Jeffery was called home on May 14, 2019. He was preceded in death by his foundation of John and Louida Merritt (maternal great grandparents), Linda S. Jackson (maternal grandmother), James McCaw (paternal grandfather), Robert (Lizette) & Patricia McCaw (paternal uncle & aunt), Sean & Lisa Jackson (maternal uncle & aunt). Jeffery leaves to cherish his memory his parents: Teresa & Jeffery McCaw, Sr. His brother Patrick, his sisters Celeste, Jayla, Camille & Trinity & niece, A’Mori. His maternal grandfather, Robert Jackson, paternal grandmother, Lillie McCaw; uncles Rick McCaw, Sr. (Tonya), Jamie McCaw (Sharon), Kenny & Kelvin Jackson; aunts, Darlene & Karen Carter, Sandra & Tracy (Ken) McCaw; Rhoda Atterberry (Willie); Danita Stewart (Troy). The Merritt, Jackson, McCaw, and Carter families which include many aunts, uncles, cousins.
