Sanford Wayne White

Sanford Wayne White was born to the union of Ozell and Richard White on May 5,1962, in St. Louis Missouri, who preceded him in death. He was the 9th of 13 children. He was preceded in death both parents and his sisters Gloria Strong, Inetta Blalock, Marilyn Crosby, Janice White, and Linda Gonzalez. Sanford accepted Christ at an early age and believed in God’s favor. Sanford was an active youth coming up. Sports, shooting pool, and handball were some of his favorite hobbies. He had a gregarious nature and people flocked to his ambitious personality. Sanford was affectionately called Fred by his peers. He graduated from Maplewood Richmond Heights High School in 1980 and briefly attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri and Harris Stowe State College in St. Louis, Missouri. Sanford enjoyed doing landscaping and was very skilled in a variety of jobs where he easily made friends. He met Elisha Johnson, who gave birth to their only son, Julian on August 27, 1985. Sanford worked as an independent contractor for Bethel Lutheran Schools doing building maintenance and landscaping services. He also accompanied his brother-in-law Brian Chapman on various construction projects. Sanford had a zest for life and a creative nature about himself, where he could be who he wanted to be. He was a free spirit - a humorous and loving guy to any and everyone that crossed his path. On August 11, 2024, the Lord wrapped Sanford in his loving arms. His spirit will live on eternally. He gave the gift of life to others by being an organ donor. He was recognized and awarded a medal during the Honor Walk at Christian Northeast Hospital. This is a jewel within Sanford’s legacy. Romans 6:4 states, “Therefore we are buried with Him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” Although Sanford will be enormously missed, we have hope of the Resurrection to be joined in everlasting life and see him again. Sanford leaves to cherish his memories: His son; Julian; Siblings; Demaries Perry, Elaine Batteast, Donetta Poole, Bobbie White, Richard White (Kathy), Kimberly White, and Monica Chapman (Brian). He has a dynasty of nieces, nephews, and cousins who will truly miss and treasure his life memories.
