Gaston L. Ward

Gaston L. Ward was born on August 19, 1955, in Middleton, Tennessee to the union of the late Willie Lee Ward and Iness (Jones) Ward. He accepted Christ at an early age at Bowden Hill CME Church. He received his early education in the Hardeman County Public School System. At the age of thirteen, he moved to Saint Louis, Missouri with his family. He finished his high school education in Saint Louis, Missouri. He later joined the United States Marine Corps and received an honorable discharge on July 25, 1983. Gaston L. Ward and Dawn Williams were married on July 25, 1975, no children were born to this union. He later had one daughter, LaGrace Ward. Gaston later met Kimberly Cross and to this union one son Courtney Cross, and served as a father to their blended family to Eddie Belton, Eboni Cross, and Quentin Belton. Gaston worked in manufacturing for many years. He also worked as a custodian at Lambert Airport and retired from there. Gaston enjoyed working on cars, gardening, and going to the race track in his spare time. He loved to cook and barbecue, and he made sure his family was taken care of. Gaston is preceded in death by his mother and father, four sisters, and four brothers. Gaston passed this life on June 27, 2020, at 12:40 AM surrounded by his family at home. He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his wife Dawn Ward, his lifetime partner Kimberly Cross, son Courtney (Carryne) Cross, LaGrace Ward (daughter), Eddie, Eboni, and Quentin; fifteen grandchildren; Joe (Bea) Ward, three sisters Emma Williams, Etta Adams, Annie (Frank ) Edmond, sister-in-law Maryann Lake, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
