Gloria Browning Hollins

Gloria Browning Hollins was born on February 6, 1935, in Saint Louis, Missouri. She was the only child born to the late George and Ruby Cockrell. Gloria's education was received from Sumner High School and Brentwood Business College. She worked as an Administrative Secretary, and Corporate Meeting Planner in the chemical industry until she retired due to health problems. Gloria married Robert Hill Lederer, Jr. and from that union a son was born, Robert Edward Lederer, III. Gloria was united in holy matrimony to Nelson Hollins on October 22, 1956, and to this union one son, Nelson Hollins, Jr. was born. T hey were married for 62 years. Gloria was Christened at the St. James AME Church in Saint Louis, Missouri and was an active member for many years. She was later baptized at the Antioch Baptist Church of Saint Louis, Missouri in February 1991. She served in the food pantry and was a member of the Clara Etta Smith Missionary Circle of the WMU, and a life member of the Women's Missionary Union of the Antioch District Women's Convention. Having been blessed to have in her life, she leaves to cherish: two sons, Nelson Hollins, Jr., and Robert Edward Lederer; one grandson, Jesse, one uncle Billy Wade from Cape Gerardo, Missouri; a loving niece Carol McClain, many cousins, a very special and loving friend Geneva, and other close and dear friends.
