Reverend Harvey Alexander Jr. Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Reverend Harvey Jacob Alexander, Jr. was born August 19, 1939, in St Louis, MO to Harvey Jacob, Sr., and Myrtle Alexander. He was the youngest and only son with siblings, Jean and Audrey, who along with both parents have preceded him in death. He was educated in the St. Louis County school system and graduated from Kinloch High School in 1957. He later received his Bachelor of Theology degree in 2010 from Advantage College. He confessed Hope in Christ at an early age, raised in the Historic Tyler Redeeming Christian Spiritualist Church where his father was Pastor of the #5 church which was located in Kinloch, Missouri. In 1955 he married LaVerne Baines “Babe” his devoted wife of 67 years. To this union, four children were born. After the closing of the #5 church, he and his mother moved their membership to the Tyler Redeeming Christian Spiritualist Church #1 under the leadership of the late Rev. Earl C. McPherson, continuing his walk with Christ, he accepted his calling and was ordained in 1968. In 1987, he was elected Pastor, in which he remained being very devoted, loyal, and faithful even as his health began to decline. Rev. Harvey transitioned from this Earthly life to life eternally on Wednesday, February 23, 2022. Left to treasure a legacy of precious memories are his wife of 67 years, LaVerne Alexander, daughters Brigette and Sabrina, sons Leland and Byron, four grandchildren Keith, Brittany, Chari, and Leland, and four great-grandchildren Simone, Sophia, Asher, and Liam as well as a host of extended family, friends, and congregation. We are so grateful to our Heavenly Father for having blessed us by allowing Harvey to be a part of our lives. We greatly mourn his passing. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Tyler Redeeming Christian Spiritualist Church, 3740 Dunn Road in Hazelwood, MO. The family will receive friends two hours before service on Thursday at Tyler Redeeming Christian Spiritualist Church, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
