Norman Shepherd (1955-2015) Norman Shepherd was born May 6, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri to John and Vernice Shepherd. He was one of nine children. Norman was preceded in death by one brother, John Shepherd Jr., one sister, Cola Jean Holloway (Shepherd) and his Grandmother Thelma D. Hines. Norman retired from Olin located in East Alton, Illinois, after working there for over 35 years. Norman was a 1974 graduate of Soldan High School and later attended Forest Park Community College. He was also a traveling Evangelist spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Norman had a dedicated heart for youth sharing with them life lessons and introducing them to the love of Jesus Christ. Norman confessed a hope in Christ early in life. He was currently attending Brooklyn Christian Faith Center under the leadership of Pastor John L. Summers. He previously attended Lane Temple C.O.G.I.C. with the late Pastor Devern Lane and was ordained by Bishop Lawrence Wooten. Norman was a conversationalist who enjoyed traveling, listening to good preaching and good gospel music. He enjoyed singing and loved singing the song, “He’s Sweet I Know” anytime and anyplace! When he wasn’t traveling, Norman enjoyed watching old Western movies and spent quality time with family and friends. Norman loved EVERYBODY and was a great man of FAITH! He was SPECIAL and will be greatly missed by the many who loved him. Norman Shepherd departed this life for Eternity to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 8, 2015. He leaves to cherish in memories six brothers, John H. Shepherd III (Estella), St. Louis, Mo., Lawrence Shepherd (Barbara), Bourbonnais, Ill., Keith Shepherd, Kansas City, Mo., Alonzo Shepherd (Robin), St. Louis, Mo., Quincy Shepherd, St. Louis, Mo. and Lathan Shepherd, St. Louis, Mo., one sister Beverly Duncan, St. Louis, Mo., one Goddaughter Jasmine Summers, St. Louis, Mo., one Godson John Levi Summers Jr., St. Louis, Mo., and a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
