Paris Alphonse Nelson

Paris Alphonse Nelson was born in Yazoo County, Mississippi on February 24, 1949, to James Nelson and Jazetta Anderson Nelson who both preceded her in death. She graduated from Linwood High School in Yazoo County. Paris had eight siblings, four preceded her in death. Paris held many work positions in Chicago, Illinois and Saint Louis, Missouri. She often travel to Los Angeles, California for her job, but her most important job was rearing her son Matthew Nelson. She also enjoyed her position with DeSmet Catholic High School. She loved Father Bailey and he was certainly good to her. Paris was baptized at an early age at Union Paradise A.M.E Church in Yazoo County, Mississippi. She attended many churches throughout her life. She loved discussing the Bible with her brothers and sisters in Christ, especially Brother Sykes. When she was feeling her worst, prayer with Brother Sykes comforted her. Paris departed this life on October 25, 2018. She leaves to mourn: one son Matthew Nelson of Saint Louis, Missouri and his wife Katrina Neealy-Nelson; six grandchildren, one brother, three sisters, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.
