February 11, 1947 - October 23, 2018
Ronald Bowman was born February 11, 1947, to the union of Eleanor and Charles Bowman. Being raised by William Ross Jr., Ronald was the oldest of nine children. His father, stepfather, two brothers George and William Jr. (Fatman), and sister Grace all preceded him in death. Ronald also known as “Pie,” was educated through the St. Louis Public School System attending Soldan High School and also receiving some degrees from Forest Park College. Ronald received Christ in his life at an early age, being baptized by the late Reverend R.K. Boney. After high school, Ronald joined the United States Army where he was stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. His service time took him to many parts of the world, even being shipped to Korea. After being honorably discharged from the service, Ronald relocated to Atlanta, Georgia where he enjoyed living his life. He enjoyed traveling and playing golf (which was his passion). He also enjoyed fishing with his uncle Jr. (who also preceded him in death) and his brothers. He had other hobbies of hunting, playing tennis, watching sports, and jogging because in his words he believed in being “slim and trim.” Ronald also loved reading and listening to jazz music. Ronald was a fun, loving, outgoing person that always wore a smile and every time you asked how he was doing his response was “I’m big allright!” Ronald would will truly be missed for his intelligent, wisdom, and knowledge of many measures. Ronald departed this life on October 23, 2018 at 3:55 PM at the Dutchtown Care Center. He leaves to cherish his many memories: a loving and caring mother Eleanor, for sisters Celestine, Carol, Rhonda, and Kim; one brother Kelvin; two brothers in law Charles and Louis; one sister-in-law Rosemary; cousin/aunt Fay Ward, 27 nieces and nephews, 69 great nieces and nephews, 41 great-great nieces and nephews, also a lifelong friend Elaine Mastin, and a host of cousins and other friends. If we forgotten anyone please charge our mind and not our heart.
