Ruth L. Liddell

Ruth Lee Drew Liddell was born September 15, 1932, to the union of Henry Drew and Anna Belle Cosby in St. Louis, Missouri. She received her education in the St. Louis Public School system, cumulating in an Associate Degree in Nursing from Forest Park Community College in December 1978 and, an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts in May 1986. Ruth had an illustrious career as a psychiatric nurse for over 30 years. Her favorite hobbies were art, drawing, making crochet scarves, hats and bedspreads for family and friends. She loved to cook. She was famously known among friends and family for her spaghetti, lemon cakes, barbeque, and banana pudding. She professed an early belief in our Lord Jesus Christ and was Christened at the old Union Memorial Church which was on Leffingwell and Pine in 1937 under the leadership of the late Rev. Abbott. Later she was baptized at Memorial Baptist Church under Rev. Séance Boyce in 1976. She was united in marriage to Mr. Earl L. Fitch in 1948. To that marriage was born two children Earl Fitch, Jr., born July 8, 1947, and preceded her in death in 1968 during the Vietnam War, and Robert P. Fitch, born Feb. 7, 1952, who preceded her in death in August 2019. She was united in marriage to Mr. Charles L. Liddell Sr. in June 1954. To that union three children were born, JoAnn, Denise, and Charles II. Denise preceded her in death on October 23, 1993, in Chicago, Illinois. Charles II preceded her in death on July 26, 1994, in St. Louis, Missouri. She leaves to mourn her a sister Annette Jackson, her devoted husband Charles L. Liddell, Sr., her devoted loving daughter JoAnn Liddell Amusa (Walle) her grandchildren: Eva, Anna, Chenelle, Geuka, Sharron, Dan III, Stanley Jr., Maisha (Johnny) Demetris, Kimberly, Malena, Felicia, David, Stanise, Steven, Breanna, Bruce, and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
