Janice Lynn White

Janice Lynn White was born March 20, 1964 in Saint Louis, Missouri, to Richard White and Ozell Roby White. She was the tenth child of thirteen children that were born to this union. Her parents and three of her sisters precede her in death: Linda Gonzalez, Gloria Strong, and Marilyn Crosby. Janice was affectionately called by her middle name “Lynn” by her family and close friends. Lynn was a person who always had a warm smile and a gentle demeanor. Even though she was baptized at an early age, she later redirected her life to Christ at The First Church of God and Christ in Richmond Heights, Missouri where she remained a member until her sunset. After high school, Lynn went on to complete an Associates of Health Science degree from St. Louis Community College at Forest Park. For several years she proudly maintained a career in the medical field as a laboratory technician first for Central Medical Center and later for American Red Cross. She enjoyed helping her colleagues, and strongly believed in teamwork, thus she received many accolades and acknowledgements for her leadership roles and quality standards at work. In 2005, she retired from American Red Cross. Some of her hobbies included watching scary movies, long conversations with family members, and reading. She was a loving soul who always put family first, and was more than willing to make necessary sacrifices for loved ones. Indeed, she was a generous, sincere, compassionate, and spiritual woman who took pride in being an asset of all kinds to many different people. Often she would reference the saying, “For if I have helped someone while on this earth, then my living has not been in vain.” A giver in life and even in death, the last honor she received was from the MidAmerican Transplant Centers for the donation of her organs and skin tissue, a bronze medal was granted. Lynn was especially found of children. She often tutored and mentored the youth in the church, local school district, and of course her beloved family. Undeniably, she always remained a reliable loving sister and aunt who enjoyed story telling, quality family time and laughter. Lynn was truly a special person; because she faithfully served a purpose, during the life span she was granted. However, on January 14, 2015 this amazing soul was called home to be in the presence of the Lord. Lynn’s journey continues as she transcends into what we knew she always was, one of God’s angels, and we are blessed to have her smiling down and watching over us. Lynn’s memories will be forever cherished by her family: sisters, Inetta Blalock, Demaries Perry, Elaine Batteast, Donetta Key-Poole (Taylor), Bobbie Joyce White, Kimberly White and Monica Chapman (Brian); brothers: Richard White (Kathy) and Sanford White; God-daughters (nieces) Brittnee white and Hannah Hayden as well as an abundance of nephews, nieces, cousins, extended relatives and friends.
