John Lee Triplett

John Lee Triplett, affectionately known as “Fat” was born February 4,1931 in Macon, Mississippi to the late Johnnie B. Triplett and Annie Eubanks. On June 17,1951, John married his Noxubee County sweetheart, Lena Lee Richardson and they were blessed with five children: Rebecca McClure, Jennifer Whitfield (Scott) and Tracy Triplett. Two of his children, Johnnie Triplett and Brenda Triplett preceded him in death. John and Lena moved to St.Louis, Missouri with their first born seeking new opportunities for success and happiness. He worked over 40 years as a journey man bricklayer for the Bricklayers Local1. He was a proud union worker and a member of Freemasons for many years. Fat was a faithful driver and loving chauffeur, who made sure his wife Lena,got to every store she needed. Whether iT was for fabric, collard greens or something for the children, Fat was there. He loved backyard barbecues, spending time with family and just having a “down home good time.” He had special love for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; and usually had a few words of advice for them. On Monday, August 18, 2014, with compassion and wisdom, God saw that Fat had grown weary, so He commanded His angels, Mercy and Grace to escort him to his heavenly home.They quietly tipped into his room and they peacefully accompanied him to everlasting life and joy.Fat will be reunited with his loving wife Lena,who preceded him in death; along with his two children Johnnie and Brenda, parents Johnnie B. Triplett and Annie E banks, brother James Edward Triplett,sisters Ada B.Thompson and Anna Kate Richardson.Three loving children cherish his memory Rebecca McClure,Jennifer(Scott)Whitfield,and Tracy Triplett.Eight grandchildren,four great-grandchildren will miss their PaPa.Three sisters:Dorothy G.(Clevester)Rice,Glenda(Richard)Smith,and Patricia(Lester)Brooks.Five brothers: Patrick(Valerie) Triplett, Alfred Triplett, Willie V. Triplett, Douglas (Recee) Triplett, and Donny Triplett have special memories. A special brother-in-law, James Richardson, daughter-in-law, Jill Bass Triplett; plus a host of nieces,nephews,other relatives and friends remember him fondly
